There was a special occasion at the Drónverseny és Robotika Show this Saturday: this was the first time we presented to the public our robot that won several awards at the 2016 RoboCup world championship. Young and old both gathered around our stand to watch our robot in move for the whole day – except when it was part of our presentation on the main stage, had to show up at a press conference or when the guys prepared it in our pit-stop.
As you may see in the picture, we are preparing hard for the Drónverseny és Robotika Show this Saturday. To make the show even more spectacular we are building a complete small obstacle course (here yet still under construction):
It is our great pleasure to have the opportunity to share yet another invitation with you: on 10th of September we will exhibit at the “Drónverseny és Robotika Show” (Drone Race and Robotics Show) hosted by Drone Prix Hungary.
The whole day event welcomes everyone interested in drones and robotics with exciting programs: besides organizing the championship final for national drone race competition in one of the largest indoor racetrack of the world there will also be exciting presentations and shows. We also hold a presentation, once we know the exact schedule, we will let you know.
Brought you by Maxon Motor.
2016 has become a very successful year for us not just because Team ResCube have represented Hungary for the first time at the RoboCup World Championship 2016 between June 28 and July 4 but also we have gained professional experience and received superb prizes and awards.
Robocup Design Award Sponsored By Flower Robotics
The Flower Robotics as one of the key sponsors of RoboCup World Championship 2016 selected our robot among all (around 500!) robots of all teams as the best design. This is like a constructor award, and our robot was evaluated by a large committee based on the submitted documentation, on personal interviews and on examination of the real robot. They have emphasized that our key strengths were: approaching problems with creativity, designing a custom, versatile robot from scratch without using any templates. Last but not least, our team’s open and challenge seeking attitude were also important factors for the nomination.
We appear twice in this short video!
With the gala-dinner last evening and the symposium today the 2016 RoboCup World Championship has officially ended. During the last week Rescube Robotics has achieved the most amazing success of its short history. Let us see the details:
- In the main competition, the RoboCup Rescue Robot League we were finally ranked 9th out of the 19 international teams – overtaking some very prestigious and experienced teams.
- Besides the main competition there were six special contests organized for the teams mostly around some specific skills (i.e. dexterity, mapping, mobility etc.). We have participated at the competition for the outdoor transportation robots (Best Outdoor CarryBot) and we have won the 1st place with a strong advantage.
- Much to our surprise we have won the RoboCup Design Award provided by the Japanese Flower Robotics one of main sponsors of RoboCup, thus recognizing our custom, ingenious and innovative solutions.
As you may know, Rescube Robotics is competing at one of the world’s largest Robotics Championship, the RoboCup in Leipzig, Germany. The prestigous event hosts 3500 competitors from around 40 countries, in the Rescue Robot League there are 19 teams from South Korea to Mexico.
Our apologies for the rare news: even at the last time everyone tries to do his best to make our robot even more dexterous, clever and reliable. We don’t sleep much, but in exchange we are pretty happy each time we look at the scoreboard.
It’s a great pleasure and even more an honor for us to be invited to the Science NO Fiction Festival organized by National Instruments Hungary.
Meet with us this weekend (March 19-20) at Kölcsey Centre in Debrecen – we will be there throughout the whole event, and we are going hold an on-stage presentation on Saturday at 11:30am!
The Science NO Fiction Festival is a rich entertainment for both young and old. Throughout the two day event we will show you how the most modern appliances are made, you can try everything that is LEGO – from building blocks to game programming, experience the virtual reality and the magical world of science.”
